What You Will Need To Make This Halal Tiramisu Recipe

Dessert Recipes
We are all very different from each other and our diversity is a beautiful and good thing. All, even those who need to eat halal foods should enjoy foods like tiramisu. Halal is an important cultural term. Sometimes, it is hard to find halal foods and spaces depending on where you live and your population. It can also be hard to determine what foods are halal since every Muslim practicing person has their own definition and interpretation. For example, some Muslims are fully vegan as they consider it hard or almost impossible to find halal eggs and chicken.

Equipment

  • Baking pan or large bowl
  • 2 Large Bowls
  • 1 whisk
  • 1 spatula

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cold of cold and strong coffee
  • 1 shot of dark espresso
  • 1.5 cup of mascarpone cheese
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup of whole milk
  • 3 teaspoons alcohol-free vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon raw cane sugar
  • 16 Italian lady finger cookies
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon

Instructions

  • In the first step in this halal tiramisu recipe, you will need to prepare the coffee and the ladyfingers. With the coffee, brew it as strong as possible. In a bowl, pour the coffee in slowly. You can also use espresso if you want it extremely rich and strong.
  • Take one ladyfinger at a time and dunk them into the coffee mixture for at least 2-5 seconds. Dunk the ladyfingers enough so that the entire dessert is covered by the coffee drink. Don't leave the ladyfingers in the coffee solution, though, as the drink can make the fingers soggy.
  • Next, in the second step, you will need to make the tiramisu filling that goes in between the layers of ladyfingers. In another bowl, place all the ingredients, not including the toppings (cocoa powder), and whisk them together. Do this one ingredient at a time, starting with the mascarpone cheese and heavy whipping cream.
  • After you have your filling, and ladyfingers complete, you can start the third step. For the third step, line the pan you will be used to store and shape the dessert with the ladyfingers.
  • After the first layer of ladyfingers is laid flat in the third step, you can then spread the filling using the spatula. Find a spatula that is made with a light rubber material so that the soft texture does not cut or break the ladyfingers. Repeat the step as desired until the layers are complete.
  • During the final step in your halal tiramisu recipe, you will garnish and decorate the tiramisu as desired. Make sure that the topping ingredients do not contain added alcohol. For example, I like using sugar, cinnamon, or cocoa powder. Serve the dish when ready and store in the refrigerator or freezer for preservation.

Notes

  • Since this recipe only takes about 5 steps and 10-20 minutes, it is simple. However, I can still share a few tips and tricks that will help you with the recipe. To make this recipe easier, I recommend using a whisk that is made of rubber or silicone instead of metal. The rubber and silicone is easier to bend, which comes in handy with sugar.
  • If you want to use a halal tiramisu recipe and you aren't sure if the ingredients you have at home are made halal, there are also applications and websites that can tell you! I recommend using these websites to generate well-known halal ingredients that are not made with pork products or alcohol.
  • The last tip or trick I have for you during this halal tiramisu recipe is to freeze the ladyfingers. When you freeze ladyfingers, the consistency is thick. This increases the absorption of coffee or espresso. If you want to add other flavors, like caramel or chocolate, use an alcohol-free syrup and mix it into the coffee solution.
