Equipment

  • Blender
  • 2 Large Bowls
  • Whisk
  • Glass Container for Preparation

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups of white all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1/2 Cup of brown sugar
  • 1/2 Cup of Almond Milk Although I chose almond milk for this non-dairy tiramisu recipe because of how naturally sweet it is you can use any milk alternative that does not have dairy!
  • 2 tbsp of vegan butter
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup of Vegan Cream Cheese Although you can make your own vegan mascarpone to mimic the dairy option I like to keep it simple for beginners and use a pre-made vegan cream cheese that has the same consistency and flavor.
  • Ladyfingers There are vegan options for cookies if you are looking for a complete vegan-free option!
  • 1 Cup of Cold Espresso
  • 2 tablespoons of mocha

Instructions

  • The first step in this non-dairy tiramisu recipe is the easiest and the most important. You should prepare the ingredients carefully by making sure that the ingredients are measured out and put to the side.
  • Making the custard is easy. You will either need a blender or a large bowl with a whisk. Take all of the ingredients not including the ladyfingers, espresso, and mocha powder, and mix them together. Make sure that it is smooth and consistent. If needed, add more sugar if you want to continue to sweeten it.
  • During the third step in this non-dairy tiramisu recipe, you will need to soak the lady fingers in the coffee/espresso mix. Some people prefer to use liquor. Either way, the ladyfingers only need to lightly soak in the espresso. Be careful not to keep it in for long as it can become soggy.
  • As you soak the ladyfingers in the espresso mixture, it is important to also start putting together the non-dairy tiramisu. Add a bottom light layer of ladyfingers. Make sure to add them and press them down lightly. Then, spread the custard or filling cream on top and continue to layer. Usually, I stop at three layers but you can get creative!
  • Although you can enjoy this delicious dessert at room temperature, it is better if you cool it in the refrigerator for a minimum of two hours before you serve it. It tastes a lot better when it is cool!

Notes

  • There are a few tips and tricks I can offer you while making this non-dairy tiramisu recipe. First, I recommend making this recipe when you have time to wait before you serve it. Although the recipe only takes about 10 to 15 minutes to complete, it is messy as there are many ingredients.
  • Not only that, but before you serve it to you and your family, it is best to let it refrigerate and cool. If you would like, garnish the top with non-dairy options like cocoa powder and cinnamon.
