  • 2 Bowls
  • Whisk
  • Stirring Spoon
  • Stove Top
  • Medium Pot
  • Fridge
  • Freezer
  • Ice Cream Maker

  • 1 Cup of Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 Cups of Whole Milk. Although you can use fat free milk or a plant based alternative it is best t use whole milk because of the fat that helps freeze the ice cream.
  • 2 tsp of Sea Salt. Although I have written that you will need two teaspoons. You should always be careful when adding salt into ice cream. This is because too much salt can go unnoticed with the sweetness of the ice cream leading to accidental dehydration.
  • 2 tsp of Vanilla Extract

Optional Ingredients

  • For these optional ingredients keep in mind that they are not absolutely necessary. Instead, I recommend these optional ingredients because they add extra flavor. You can get creative and even use freshly cut fruits in your sea salt ice cream recipe.
  • Chocolates Syrup
  • Caramel Syrup
  • Mint Chocolate Extract

  • The first step in this sea salt ice cream recipe is the most important, preparing the ingredients. You will need to separate the eggs into two bowls. Make sure that the egg yolks and the egg whites are separate. Measure out the rest of the ingredients.
  • There are a few mini steps when you create the custard in this sea salt ice cream recipe. You will need to mix the sugar with the egg yolk separately. Then, in a hot pot, boil and mix the milk, yolk, sugar, and egg whites into the hot pan. Soon, it should start to thicken and resemble an ice cream. Add salt lightly and taste until desired amount.
  • After the custard starts to cool, don't forget to add the whipping cream, vanilla, and the other optional flavors. Mix well and prepare the freeze.
  • Once you mix the custard in this sea salt ice cream recipe, it is necessary to freeze the ingredients in either an ice cream maker or the freezer. Prepare two large baking sheets and add the mixture. Take out any air bubbles as you spread. Freeze for a minimum of four hours before serving.
  • Enjoy after four hours and store the remainder of the ice cream into a container with a tightly sealed lid in the freezer.

  • I have a few tips and tricks that can make it easier to make this sea salt ice cream recipe. First, it is best to add garnishes and flavors. Although sea salt does give an interesting flavor to the ice cream, it can be bland if it is just vanilla.
  • Don't worry though, you can alter this sea salt ice crem recipe by adding syrup flavors and extracts for both flavor and color.
  • Not all of us have ice cream makers and that is okay! If you cannot use it once, I recommend adding two large pans that are deep to freeze the mixture into an ice cream consistency.
