Amish Apple Crumb Pie

Ingredients
  

  • 1 box refrigerated pie dough
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 3 large apple

Filling:

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 tsp cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease both the sides and bottom of a pie dish.  Choose whatever size you want. Mix together the sugar, flour, and spices in a bowl.
  • Peel the apples, then slice into rounds. The layout on a cookie sheet, sprinkle with the sugar mixture, and bake for about 10 minutes. 
  • Remove from oven and place the apple slices in a pie dish, pressing down slightly to ensure that they are evenly distributed.
  • Sprinkle with the remaining sugar mixture. Bake for another 30 minutes or until apples are soft and golden brown. Cool completely before serving.

Notes

TIP:  If you don’t have a pie dish, you can use a deep-dish pie pan.
