  • Oven
  • glass pie pan
  • Large Bowl
  • Whisk

Ingredients

  • 2 frozen or refrigerated Pillsbury pie crusts
  • 5-6 peaches peeled and cubed
  • 1/4 cup of corn starch
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of whole milk butter
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg

Instructions

  • You will need to begin this peach pie with Pillsbury pie crust recipe by pre-baking the pie crust. All pie crust is different so pay special attention to the instructions. Do not over bake the pie crust. Only keep it in the oven for about 10 to 15 minutes.
  • After your Pillsbury pie crust is in the oven, you can start to prepare and gather the ingredients. It is going to take some time before you can mix the ingredients together. Instead, peel the fresh peaches and cut them into small cubes.
  • Once all the ingredients are together and properly measured out, whisk them together for the filling. As you whisk the ingredients, it is a good idea to pre-heat the oven if you already haven't. Set the oven to a minimum temperature of 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • The filling should only take you about 10 minutes to prepare and complete. Make sure that the filling is smooth and there are no large lumps of sugar or spices. Pour the filling into the peach pie crust that has been pre-baked.
  • Once the oven reaches 400 degrees Fahrenheit, you can place your peach pie with Pillsbury pie crust inside of the oven and bake for a minimum of 35 minutes to a maximum of 45 minutes. The pie crusts should be golden on top once it is fully baked.
  • Take it out of the oven when you believe your pie is ready. Then, let is cool on a cooling rack or in your refrigerator for 20 minutes before serving. The glaze and filling is so hot that you can burn your tongue.

Notes

  • The first tip or trick I have for you is to create a glaze by using a skillet. If you want a thicker and sweeter peach pie filling, try adding heat to a pot and mixing the ingredients in slowly. Mixing the ingredients without heat can only do so much. If you do choose to make a glaze, I recommend making some extra to add as a topping.
  • The best thing about enjoying a peach pie with Pillsbury pie crust is how sweet it is and how it pairs well with other foods. Once you are ready to serve this delicious dessert, add a scoop or two of vanilla bean ice cream on top and let it melt with the rest of the peach and spices.
