What's the difference between French apple pie and Dutch apple pie?

Bisquick Impossible Apple Pie

The Original

Ingredients
  

  • 6 cups apples - peeled and sliced
  • 1 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup biscuit mix (e.g. Bisquick)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup biscuit mix (e.g. Bisquick)
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp butter

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 165 degrees C.
  • Grease or spray your baking pie pan.
  • In a big bowl, mix the apples, nutmeg, and cinnamon together.  Pour the mixture into the greased baking pan.
  • In another bowl, beat the milk, sugar, biscuit mix, butter, and eggs until smooth. Pour this mixture over the apples.
  • In a separate bowl, stir in 1 cup biscuit mix, brown sugar, nuts, and butter.  Mix them until they get crumbly. Sprinkle this crumbly streusel over the top of the pie.
  • Bake for about 60 minutes or until the knife comes out clean when inserted in the center.
